Course schedule
The course schedule includes:
- August 17 – August 28, 2026: Online lecture via Microsoft Teams, Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- August 31 – September 4, 2026: In-person skills lab training, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- September 5 and September 12, 2026: Clinicals, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, with 25 clinical hours per candidate
- September 19, 2026: CNA testing begins at 9:00 AM and continues until finished
About the course
This Certified Nursing Assistant course is designed to prepare students for hands-on patient care work through a structured combination of theory, practical skills, clinical experience, and final testing.
Students will complete online coursework before attending in-person lab training and clinical shifts, giving them the opportunity to develop essential CNA skills in a guided learning environment.

- External applicants
External applicants may choose a private-pay option that does not require employment at St. Peter's Health.
External applicant pathway
External applicants interested in working at St. Peter's Health and gaining a scholarship should apply for a CNA or aide position currently posted on the St. Peter's Health website.
Applicants who do not want to pursue employment at St. Peter's Health may choose the private-pay option.
St. Peter's Health employee pathway
Current St. Peter's Health employees may have the cost of the programme covered through the internal process.
Employees should:
- Notify their director or manager of their interest in the training programme
- Be an employee in good standing
- Apply for a Certified Nursing Assistant position through the St. Peter's Health website
- Review the CNA position description before applying
- Complete an interview with department leadership if selected
- Wait for further course details if offered a position and invited to attend the CNA Training Program
