Butler Community College is a public 2-year institution located in El Dorado, Kansas that offers associate degrees and occupational skills training. With more than 65 years of service to the Butler County community and beyond, BCC has become one of the largest community colleges in Kansas.

BCC provides affordable education options for both traditional and non-traditional learners who are looking for an alternative to four year universities or those seeking employment opportunities through our many vocational programs.

The school is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of College, as well as the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs, the National League of Nursing, and the Kansas State Board of Nursing. This school continues to offer students great educational experiences and there are many academic programs to pursue. Students can earn an associate degree in many different fields and there are also certificate programs. BCC is very highly regarded in the athletics department as well, having won several NJCAA national championships in several sports.

BCC has a very popular and successful nursing program. The nursing programs will allow students to earn an AAS degree (there is also an advanced standing option for those with LPN license). The associate degree program at BCC prepares students for life as a successful part of the medical community. The curriculum is designed to help nursing students learn how to think critically so that they can meet the complex challenges that modern nurses face on a daily basis. The school is also partnered with the University of Kansas and Wichita State University to allow students to work towards earning a bachelor degree in nursing. It is possible to work on both the associate degree and the bachelor degree at the same time due to how this program is set up.
