Frontier Community College

Frontier Community College is a public, two-year institution of higher education in Fairfield town. Founded in 1970, it is one of the forty-eight public 2-year colleges in Illinois. The campus is located on the south side of town and offers an array of courses for students to choose from including academic transfer programs and career technical programs that lead to degrees or certificates with an emphasis on workforce development.

The college has been ranked as being among "America's Top Colleges" by Forbes magazine which cites its low tuition cost and high graduation rates. For 2017, Frontier was ranked 14th out of 482 community colleges nationwide for its value according to Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine

The college offers a wide range of courses that include English composition I & II; pre-calculus (for non math majors); social science survey courses; biology for non-majors; principles of marketing; introduction to accounting and finance for business majors as well as many more courses.
