Georgia Health Sciences University is a public 4-year university situated in Augusta, Georgia. Founded in 1828 as Augusta Medical College, it is the oldest and largest institution of higher learning in the state of Georgia. The school offers degree programs at undergraduate and graduate levels including more than 70 majors across nine academic divisions: Allied Health Sciences; Dentistry; Graduate Studies; Nursing Science (MSN); Pharmacy (DPharm); Physical Therapy (DPT); Public Heath Administration; Basic Life Sciences & Mathematics; and Veterinary Medicine.

Georgia Health Sciences University is a public, 4-year university located in Augusta, Georgia. Founded in 1828 by the Medical Society of Augusta and chartered as the Medical College of Georgia in 1830, it was originally housed at what is now known as the Old Medical College Building. The college became an independent institution within the state's university system on July 1, 1972.
