Iowa Central Community College is a two-year, comprehensive community college that offers transfer degrees, occupational training and personal enrichment. The college has three campuses in western Iowa: the Storm Lake Campus (main campus), the Le Mars Extension Center and the Emmetsburg Extension Center.
Iowa Central was established in 1868 as one of Iowa’s first public colleges, with classes held at Simpson College in Indianola until its permanent site near Storm Lake was built four years later. Today it continues to serve communities by providing an affordable education for students seeking careers or personal growth.

In 1973, it became Iowa Central Community College with its present name, which reflects its service area: northwest Iowa from Mason City to Sioux City.
