Iowa Western Community College is a public two-year community college in Shenandoah, Iowa. The Shelby County Center opened in 1980 to serve the needs of its rural communities and provide access for students who live outside of the area.

Iowa Western offers career-focused courses that lead to an Associate degree or transfer credits to four year colleges and universities. Students can also get training for careers in agriculture, business management, healthcare, manufacturing technology, skilled trades and more through short term certificates offered at the center's campus. The Shelby County Center is located on Hawkeye Avenue near Highway 69 South about three miles south of Shenandoah Village Shopping Center just off Interstate 35 exit 283 (Hawkeye Ave).
