Laredo Community College is a public institution and one of the largest community colleges in Texas. LC is accredited by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. This school has an open admission policy meaning that all students who meet age requirements are welcomed into its programs without any entrance exams.

 LC offers many associate’s degree programs including Accounting, Applied Studies, Criminal Justice Technology, Early Childhood Education-Teaching Track (Online), Early Childhood Education-Preschool Teaching Track (Online), Electrical Engineering Associate Degree Program (Online), General Studies - Liberal Arts & Sciences Emphasis (Online) Health Information Management Assistant Certificate Program (online), History - Public History Concentration(online),

LC has two main nursing program options for students to consider. Students are able to pursue an associate’s degree in nursing or a certificate from the vocational nursing program. Students will learn the necessary skills to become licensed vocational nurses (LVN) in the vocational program and can pursue becoming registered nurses (RN) in the associate’s degree program. Nursing students will feel prepared to take the appropriate NCLEX licensure exam upon graduation. Students at LC have traditionally found great success in the nursing field. This nursing program is approved by the Texas State Board of Nursing and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
