Mississippi University for Women is one of the eight public 4-year colleges in Mississippi. The campus is located in Columbus town. With 217 freshman students enrolled, MUW plans to continue its focus on providing a quality education and teaching experience for all students. It will provide an excellent education that prepares graduates for success as they enter the workforce or transfer to a university like MUW's sister school, Vanderbilt University. As we move forward with our plan, we are confident that MUW will continue to thrive and serve as an institution of higher learning for generations to come.

The school offers over 40 undergraduate majors and minors in fields such as Arts and Sciences, Education, Business Administration, Nursing and Health Professions. MUW also has 11 graduate programs including Master's degrees in Business Administration and the Human Services Professionals program to name a few.

The campus is located in Columbus town which is located near Tupelo Mississippi. The university was founded by the United Daughters of Confederacy due to their desire for an all female college that would be open to students from any race or religion but with one caveat: they could not be "black." Unfortunately it took until 2017 before the first black student enrolled at MUW because
