NEWH Nursing Consortium

NEWH Nursing Consortium is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that collaborates with healthcare providers and their communities to develop programs for the recruitment, retention, and education of nurses. We provide opportunities for professional development through training in leadership and management skills as well as competency enhancement through our Advanced Practice Nurse Program.

Heart of Rockingham County, NEWH is a non-profit consortium that provides home health and hospice care to residents in the Rocky Mount area. We are committed to providing compassionate care for individuals and families facing illness, injury or aging.

At NEWH we provide:

1) Compassionate Care - Quality service delivered by our caring professionals who respect the dignity of each individual.   2) Collaboration - Partnership with physicians, other medical providers and community resources that best serve our patients’ needs. 3) Communication - Keeping patients up-to-date on their condition through open dialogue with them as well as family members. 4) Comfort - Enhancing quality of life through emotional support programs like music therapy

NEWH Nursing Consortium is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing the best education and training for nurses in North Carolina. The New Hanover Regional Medical Center, UNC School of Nursing at Wilmington, and Cape Fear Community College collaborate to provide an innovative nursing program that addresses the needs of healthcare professionals in southeastern NC. NEWH offers high quality instruction with a focus on clinical skills development, leadership studies and community service opportunities which prepares graduates for professional success.

Located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, NEWH Nursing Consortium is the first ever private nonprofit medical school in the United States. Founded by Dr. Ronald B. Fisher and his wife, Connie Fisher, MD., they created a world-class institution that provides an innovative approach to nursing education by providing high quality graduate programs in nursing and biomedical sciences for diverse populations at a global level.
