The school was founded in 1919 when two Franciscan friars from the Province of Our Lady of Angels bought an 18th century mansion on Montague Street with the intention to provide young men with an education grounded in Catholic values and Franciscan ideals while also providing them access to professions within business and commerce as well as engineering
