St. Gregory's University
St. Gregory's University is a private not-for-profit university that was established in 1875 by the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. The campus is located in rural Shawnee, OK and has been offering degrees for over 150 years.
The St. Gregory's community consists of students from more than 20 countries and 50 states with an average student age of 24 years old (as of Fall 2016). Our diverse community offers opportunities to learn about other cultures, languages, religions, and lifestyles while developing lifelong friendships and professional networks.
We believe that our university should be open to all people regardless of their faith or background which makes it possible for us to offer scholarships based on financial need as well as merit.
St. Gregory's University is one of the fourteen private, not-for-profit 4-year colleges in Oklahoma. The campus is located in a rural area, in Shawnee. St. Gregory's offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs for men and women seeking professional careers as educators, physicians, nurses or healthcare professionals, business managers or executives, engineers or computer scientists.
The university was founded by the Benedictine monks of Saint Gregory Abbey to serve their own needs for educated priests; it opened its doors on September 23rd 1878 with two students and four faculty members who had studied at Louvain (Leuven), Belgium. Today more than 400 students from across the United States attend St. Gregory’s.
