SUNY Empire State College is a public, four-year college offering degrees in Business, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Hospitality Management, Information Technology and Computer Science. In addition to our main campus on the shores of beautiful Saratoga Lake in upstate New York, we also have campuses located within walking distance of downtown Albany and Buffalo. We were founded in 1971 as a two year school for non-traditional students who had been working or raising families. The first classes were held at the YMCA but soon relocated to the former Union Station Building which was renovated for university use by architect Ithiel.
