University of Akron Main Campus

The University of Akron is a public research university in the United States. Established in 1870, it is one of the oldest universities in Ohio and has grown to include over 200 undergraduate and 100 graduate programs. The main campus is located on 332 acres with an additional branch campuses in Orrville, Lafayette Township, and Lakewood. In addition to offering traditional undergraduate courses, UA also offers several nursing programs as well as other degrees for those who are interested in pursuing careers outside of nursing.

 Along with these opportunities for degree completion, UA partners with many other institutions such as Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine to offer joint-degree programs that provide students with access to two different fields of study at once.

The University of Akron Main Campus offers both undergrad and graduate nursing degree programs. The undergrad programs include traditional BSN, accelerated BSN, LPN to BSN, and RN to BSN programs. Graduate options include MSN, RN to MSN, Ph.D., and BSN to Ph.D. programs. All options are accredited by the CCNE. The accelerated BSN program is designed to be completed in four semesters, while the traditional program is designed to be completed in four years. Registered nurses with an Associates degree may enroll in the RN to BSN program, which is offered online or through a combination of classroom and distance learning.
