Valley Baptist Medical Center is a non-profit, community hospital in Brownsville, Texas. We offer a vast array of medical services including emergency care and trauma care; general surgery including robotic surgery for prostate cancer; women's health such as prenatal counseling and mammogram screening; family planning from birth control to vasectomies and tubal ligations; rehabilitation programs including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and mental health professionals.
We also provide wellness services with board-certified physicians practicing cardiology, neurology (including dementia), pulmonology (including sleep apnea) and gastroenterology. Valley Baptist has been serving the Rio Grande Valley since 1971 when we opened our doors with just 40 beds.

Valley Baptist Medical Center (VBMC) is a full-service, acute care hospital with 229 beds and has been in operation since 1953. Valley Baptist Medical Center is the only medical facility located in West Texas that provides obstetrical services. With six labor rooms, two operating suites and one birthing center, VBMC offers maternity care from prenatal visits to postpartum follow up.
The Valley Women’s Pavilion at VBMC also features an expanded surgical suite for women’s specialty surgery needs such as gynecologic procedures, breast reconstruction surgery after mastectomy or lumpectomy, treatment of endometriosis and fibroids through minimally invasive surgeries to name a few.
