Vista College is a nonprofit, accredited institution of higher education offering undergraduate and graduate degrees. Founded in 1970, we are proud to have pioneered the first degree program in computer science for women in the U.S., as well as pioneering programs in math, engineering, and nursing among others. Today our diverse student body numbers over 2,000 from all 50 states and more than 30 countries around the world.

Established in 1958 by the Sisters of Mercy as an extension of Saint Mary's College High School, Vista College was one of the first colleges to be established as a two-year institution with evening classes exclusively for women. The original campus was located on the grounds of Saint Mary’s Seminary & University; today all programs are offered at our main location on Hamilton Avenue in San Rafael (except Practical Nursing).A pioneer among California community colleges when it became independent from Contra Costa Community College District in 1974, Vista has grown into a comprehensive college.

Vista College is a private, nonprofit, degree-granting institution. Vista offers more than 100 programs in 80 fields of study on campus and online for both traditional and non-traditional students. Vista College has been providing affordable education since 1971 when the school was founded in California's San Gabriel Valley by local residents seeking to improve educational opportunities for their children.
