Wallace Community College - Selma

The college was established as an extension center at Fort McClellan Army base by the Alabama Department of Education (ADOE) in 1964 with six faculty members enrolled for instruction, growing into full-fledged community college status when it became affiliated with ADOE's system
of eight comprehensive two-year colleges throughout Alabama. In those first years Wallace served primarily as an annex providing basic skills education.
