Waynesburg University

Waynesburg University is a private, four-year liberal arts college located on a picturesque campus in Waynesburg. It was founded by the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1849 and has since grown to offer over 70 majors. The Cumberland Presbyterian Church established the school in 1849 as a preparatory academy for ministry in southwestern Pennsylvania. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania officially chartered it as an institution of higher learning and education in 1850 and its name was changed to Waynesburg College. In 2003, the college merged with Point Park University from Pittsburgh to form Point Park University at Waynesburg (PPU). PPU offers undergraduate degrees through both campuses and graduate degrees through the Pittsburgh campus only.
