Adelphi University is a private university in Garden City, New York. It was established in 1896 as Adelphi College with just 57 students and 16 instructors. The university now serves over 7,500 students annually and employs over 1,000 academic staff. Adelphi University is the oldest university in suburban Long Island.

The university is organized into several schools and colleges, including the College of Nursing and Public Health. The campus has a unique look, as most of the buildings are symmetrical. In fact, one of the buildings includes a second chimney simply to keep the symmetrical appearance between buildings.

Five nursing programs are offered, including traditional BSN, accelerated BSN, RN to BSN, MSN, and PhD programs. All programs are accredited by the CCNE. The traditional BSN program provides students with hands-on training at local clinics and through simulated learning environments. The accelerated program is designed to be completed in 14 months with a full-time schedule, with classes starting during the summer semester.

To apply for the RN to BSN program, registered nurses must have a 3.0 GPA and an associate degree in nursing. The MSN program includes four different specialty tracks, including Administration, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and Nursing Education.
