Alcorn State University is one of the eight public 4-year colleges in Mississippi. The campus is located in a rural area, in Alcorn State.  According to the NCES 2017 report, a total of 3,716 students attend the school. In the 2017 fall enrollment, 742 freshman students enrolled and approximately 557 students returned for their sophomore year (which makes its freshman retention rate 75%). Every year 33% of the graduating class graduates in 150% of time it takes to complete their studies.

In-state tuition for the 2017-2018 academic year was $5,469 with fees at $1,895 which equals around $8k per semester or about $4k per quarter).Alcorn State University's mission is to provide a quality, accessible, and affordable education for the students of Alcorn County. We do this by providing an educational experience that empowers our students with knowledge and skills in order to be successful in their careers and lives as global citizens.
