American River College, founded in 1967, is an accredited public community college located in the heart of California’s Capital City. We are a diverse, inclusive community where everyone can learn and succeed. Our mission is to prepare students for transfer to four-year degree programs or career opportunities by providing access to comprehensive educational programs that emphasize hands-on learning and preparing students with the skills needed for today’s workplace. As our region changes, so does American River College—keeping pace with regional needs and demands by offering more degrees than ever before; building stronger partnerships with other institutions of higher education; increasing student support services; and expanding workforce training initiatives.
