Darton State College is a public, comprehensive community college in Albany, Georgia. Founded in 1884, Darton has grown from its four original buildings to include the main campus and twelve branch campuses across the state of Georgia. Darton State College offers over 100 associate degree and certificate programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Since its founding in 1884, Darton State College has served as a premier academic institution with an emphasis on the liberal arts and sciences. Darton State offers associate degrees and the first two years of many four-year degree programs as well as general studies courses for those who are not pursuing a college degree. The school’s name honors two Georgia governors: John Houstoun Darnton (1742-1832), governor from 1807 to 1809; and Edwin Darden (1915-1995), governor from 1963 to 1967.
