Fort Hays State University is the largest university in Kansas. It was founded in 1867, and it's located just outside of Topeka on a beautiful campus that offers more than 100 undergraduate degrees. Fort Hays State University has been named one of the top 5 best colleges for veterans by Military Times Magazine, and its average student-to-faculty ratio is 16:1. 

The school also boasts numerous nationally recognized programs such as Nursing, Education, Business Administration, Psychology and Computer Science. According to the NCES 2017 report, a total of 15,100 students attend the school. In the 2017 fall enrollment, 1,045 freshman students enrolled, and approximately 742 students returned for their sophomore year (which makes its freshman retention rate 71%). Every year 44% of the graduating class students graduate in 150% of the time it takes to complete their studies.

Fort Hays State University's in-state tuition for the 2017-2018 academic year was $3,900, and fees were $1,109.
