Holmes Community College - Ridgeland Campus

Holmes Community College's Ridgeland Campus is located on 412 West Ridgeland Avenue in the city of Ridgeland, Mississippi. The campus offers a variety of certificate and degree programs for students interested in continuing their education or transferring to four-year universities. With a student population of over 2,000 students per semester, HCC has one of the largest campuses within the JCTC system.

Holmes Community College - Ridgeland Campus is a two-year institution of higher learning that provides education and training. The college offers Associate Degrees, Bachelor's Degrees, Certificates, Diplomas and Technical Courses in Arts & Sciences; Business Administration; Health Professions; Industrial Technology; Engineering Technologies; Education and Social Services.

Holmes Community College is the only public, comprehensive community college in Mississippi. The campus opened its doors on September 16, 1967 with an enrollment of 1,200 students. Today we have over 5400 students and offer more than 130 transfer degree programs to prepare our graduates for careers in business, education, health care and public service.

Holmes Community College is a comprehensive community college serving the educational needs of residents in Holmes County, Mississippi. The Ridgeland Campus has an enrollment of approximately 1200 students and offers Associate Degrees for transfer to four-year universities as well as career technical programs.

The story begins with two men who could not see eye to eye on how education should be conducted. One wanted a school that would be self-sufficient, while one wanted a school that would rely heavily on outside funds. The difference in opinion resulted in the founding of two separate schools: the Mississippi Agricultural and Mechanical College (MAMC) in 1878 and then the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) in 1880.
