Lawson State Community College - Birmingham

Lawson State Community College is a historically black college that offers academics and technical/career programs. Lawson State has been in existence since 1949, but the ADN program was started in 1970. The ADN program has produced over 1000 nurses to date, as well as the LPN program which began 1973.

The college offers over 60 different programs including practical nursing and associate's degree in nursing. In 1970, LSCC created an ADN program which is responsible for adding 1000s of nurses into the healthcare field throughout its 4 decade-long existence. When it comes to LPN programs, Lawson State also produces 1000s of dedicated nurses since it began offering that mobility in 1973.
