Massanutten Technical Center is a nonprofit trade school that has been operating since 1969. We provide high-quality, affordable training for employment in construction and the trades. Our programs are designed to help students gain the skills necessary to be successful in today's workforce while also providing them with an opportunity to earn a certification or diploma.

Massanutten Technical Center is a nonprofit institution that provides educational opportunities for adults who are interested in pursuing careers in the construction, design, and engineering industries. We offer courses in carpentry, plumbing and electrical work as well as graphic arts. The school was founded by Dr. T. J. Lutz III to provide training to help ease the shortage of skilled labor for employers across Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley region during the 1970s oil crisis when many young people were leaving their communities for better-paying jobs elsewhere or because they could not find employment at all.
Massanutten Technical Center is a vocational technical school in Harrisonburg, VA. Students come from all over Central Virginia and Eastern West Virginia to receive the best possible education in a variety of fields including: welding, automotive technology, computer information systems, cosmetology, health sciences and more. Massanutten Tech offers many programs that will help students gain skills for careers of their choice while also preparing them for college. With an average class size of 12 students per instructor and state-of-the-art equipment available on campus or through our partnership with nearby James Madison University's (JMU) College of Engineering & Technology, we are confident that every student who attends will be prepared for success!
