Grady who purchased a large farm with his own funds to start this institution.[1] In 1958 it was renamed Northwestern Oklahoma Agricultural & Mechanical (A&M) Institute.[2] In 1965 it became Northwest Regional A&M Center,[3] then Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1969 when it moved to Alva from Chickasha
