Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is one of ten campuses in the Texas A&M system and was established by the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The university's beginnings can be traced to 1947 when it first opened its doors as a private institution. After being sold to state government following Hurricane Celia, which destroyed much of the campus, TAMUCC officially joined the Texas A&M System in 1989 and now offers 33 undergraduate programs and 25 graduate programs.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is a four-year university with over 11,000 students. We offer both undergraduate and graduate degrees in many fields. Our campus is located on the Gulf Coast of Texas and offers a beautiful view of the ocean from every building on campus! The school has been around since 1947, originally as a private institution established by the Baptist General Convention of Texas. After Hurricane Celia hit, it was sold to the state in 1970. Today, our focus is primarily on STEM programs but we also have humanities programs and nursing schools for those who are interested!

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is a public university with 33 undergraduate and 25 graduate programs. The campus is located in Corpus Christi, Texas, about 200 miles southwest of Houston. Hurricane Harvey hit the area hard on Aug. 25th 2017 and caused major damage to the city including our campus. We are working diligently to clean up from the storm and return to class as soon as possible for all students who have been impacted by this devastating event.
