The mission of the Delaware Institute of Health Sciences is to provide quality, personalized health care services in an environment that encourages independence and self-worth. Our goal is to help people live better lives by providing them with a comprehensive range of high quality, cost-effective health care services that are designed for their individual needs.
Delaware Institute of Health Sciences provides medical, mental health and substance abuse treatment programs for adults and adolescents who have emotional or behavioral problems as well as those who suffer from chronic illness and addiction.

The Delaware Institute of Health Sciences (DIHS) was founded in 1993 to provide comprehensive healthcare services for the underserved population of African Americans and other minority populations.

DIHS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit health service organization with a mission to empower people living in poverty by providing culturally competent, quality medical care that promotes wellness, prevents illness and optimizes wellbeing across generations. The DIHS team includes physicians, nurses, dentists, mental-health professionals and pharmacists who work collaboratively to serve patients from infancy through old age – regardless of their ability to pay.

The Delaware Institute of Health Sciences is a for-profit, not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization that was established in 1973 as the first and only independent institution in the United States solely dedicated to providing quality education in all aspects of health sciences. DIHS offers undergraduate degree programs at its main campus in Wilmington, Delaware; graduate degree programs online; and continuing education opportunities for clinicians throughout North America.
Dedicated to providing an excellent educational experience with hands on learning opportunities, students have access to clinical training labs where they can work with real human specimens or patient simulators. Students also have access to cutting edge technology like virtual reality headsets and augmented reality gloves so they can learn about how these technologies are used.

DIHS is a non-profit medical school, the first of its kind in the State of Delaware. Founded in 1988 with an emphasis on public health and global health issues, DIHS educates tomorrow's physicians to be leaders in healthcare delivery.

The Delaware Institute of Health Sciences is a nonprofit corporation that provides high-quality, affordable healthcare to those who cannot afford it. We are the state's only primary care clinic dedicated to serving low-income populations in need of medical care and we provide a full range of services such as lab work, x-rays, mammograms and pap smears. The institute was founded by Drs. John Cameron and Carolyn Smith in 1980 with the mission statement "to serve people who can't get help elsewhere." With over 40 years of experience providing quality medical care for patients throughout Delaware, we have expanded our services from one office in Wilmington to three offices statewide – including Newark and Dover – which now includes dental clinics at all three locations.
