Kirkwood Community College is a public institution of higher education that provides career and transfer education. We are located in Iowa City, IA and serve students from all over the Midwest. Kirkwood offers associate degrees (AAS), diplomas, certificates and pre-college courses leading to an undergraduate degree at four campuses: Iowa City Campus; Ames Center Campus; Cedar Rapids Center Campus; Davenport Center Campus.

Kirkwood Community College is a two-year, public, comprehensive community college located in Iowa City. Kirkwood offers more than 100 associate degree and certificate programs in career fields for today's workforce needs. Students can choose from Associate of Arts (A.A.), Associate of Science (AS), or Occupational Certificate Programs to meet their individual goals and objectives. The college also offers courses in business, computer information technology, education, engineering technologies and health sciences that are designed for transfer to four-year institutions as well as the development of skills for employment or self-employment upon completion of an occupational certificate program.

The college was founded in 1965 as Kirkwood Junior College by Drs. Clinton Loehrke, Raymond Anderson, James Gourley and others who believed that high school graduates should have an opportunity for postsecondary work experience or preparation for employment without incurring excessive debt.

Kirkwood Community College is an accredited, public two-year college located in Iowa City. The campus offers a variety of academic and vocational programs for students from diverse backgrounds.
